Most of us have times in our lives where situations, problems or difficulties affect our personal lives and perhaps our effectiveness on the job.  The City understands and encourages you to utilize your Employee Assistance Program (EAP).  Employees and their household members can get professional counseling and work/life services in many areas to include Elder Care.  This benefit is paid for by the City and FREE to the employee and household members.

City Employee Medical Coverage Offers Coverage for Behavioral Health

Cigna HMO members should call Cigna Behavioral Health for providers and coverage at 800-866-6534.  BlueCross/BlueShield members should call 602-864-4957. Or call the City's full-time on-site representatives from Cigna and BlueCross/BlueShield.

Legal Problems?

Are you enrolled in the ARAG Legal Plan?  If yes, call 1-800-247-4184 Monday - Friday 6 am to 6 pm CST.  If you aren't enrolled in ARAG, call the EAP at (602) 534-5433. 

For Supervisors

  • Call MHN at 1-800-888-4024, option 2, ext. 4980 to request grief counseling or crisis intervention and support.
  • Job Performance Referral information is found on the right hand navigation of this page under "Referrals".  When referred to the EAP by a supervisor for job performance reasons, an employee may use PB Time, up to 2 hours per appointment including travel time, three times per calendar year.  All other appointments are on the employee's time.
