How to Donate

How to Donate

Once you've decided on your level of charitable giving for 2012, choose the easiest method to use. Use the Agency List to choose who and how you will make an impact this year.  Ask your tax advisor how contributions will count for your income taxes.

There are 3 methods to donate to your favorite cause through the Campaign:

1)  Payroll Deduction
Choose an amount to give per month and it will be automatically deducted from your paycheck and sent to the charity of your choice.  No hassle, no worries and total convenience.  Donate the value of one Starbucks or one hour's pay and see how little amounts, barely missed each month, can add up to make a huge difference to your favorite charity.

A summary of your contributions is included in your W9 statement sent to you each January for your tax records.  No more receipts shoved into a shoe box to go through and add up!

Payroll deduction can be made via E-Give online (instructions) or via a paper Pledge Form. Here's an example of the E-Give page.

2) Credit Card transaction
Make a donation to your favorite charity through your credit card!  Ask your professional tax preparer about using this donation as you can choose it to be credited immediately (for the 2011 tax year) or credited in January or on a monthly basis (for the 2012 tax year) or both!

3) Cash donation
Some employees choose the simple cash or check donation method. Simply choose that option on your Pledge Card and include your lump-sum donation amount.  Give both to your Department's CSFD representative.

Ask your professional tax preparer about using this donation as it will be credited in the 2011 tax year.
